4 guests' feedbackVery pleasant, well-kept garden. Would love to see a railing at the stairs going to the top floor - for safety reasons. (Stairs rather steep). Not really well equipped for load-shedding. Not actually notified of load-shedding times - useful to know these. Fortunately, I had packed in a battery torch which came in very handy. No tissues in the room.
Fair Glen is a neat, clean and well-planned guest house. Although we've stayed there before and really enjoyed it, we didn't realize some rooms were on the first floor. So the room we booked was up the stairs and when you reach the first floor, only the bathroom and kitchenette are on the first floor. The bedroom is up another set of stairs. We can climb stairs, no problem, but because the website does not indicate these details, it can be a big surprise for some people, also the fact that your bedroom and bathroom are not on the same floor.
The guest house will be difficult to find for strangers in the area, but because we know the area well because we lived there before, it was easy to find. One is far from any traffic and therefore assured of a peaceful night's sleep in beautiful surroundings. There are large spaces around the guest house which makes parking easier, even if we wanted to spend the night there with our 4x4 caravan on the way somewhere. Everything in the entire guest house is very neat and shows care. Our room's (Arabian) linen and blankets were luxurious and we slept wonderfully. We would be happy to recommend the guest house and stay there again.
We were received with kindness by Nico and his team and immediately made to feel at home. Not only was the room more spacious and luxurious than we expected, but we were able to relax in the rest of the guest house even though we only stayed there for the evening. Would highly recommend to anyone.
